Prudential Laos and Prudence Foundation donate funds to Lao Red Cross in support of victims from floods in Southern Laos

Prudential Laos, on behalf of Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential in Asia and Africa, made a donation of USD$14,971.76 to support the long-term and sustainable recovery efforts in communities impacted by the floods that hit the Southern provinces of Laos in September 2019.

The representative of Prudential Laos conferred a cheque to Mr. Khamhoung Heungvongsy, President of Lao Red Cross.

The donation will directly benefit a total of 1,500 people from 500 households in Salavan and Sekong, two of the most affected areas across the Southern provinces. The funds will support Lao Red Cross in delivering relief and hygiene kits, medicines, as well as daily supplies such as rice, instant noodles, canned fish, water and soap to those in need.

Lao Red Cross will engage volunteers to prepare and pack the materials, as well as coordinate with the local authorities to ensure that the relief items are effectively distributed to the target communities within this month.
